Day 01: Delhi
There are many historical and modern architectural attractions in the city of Delhi. Upon arrival at the Delhi airport – the capital of India, the representative will welcome the guests and help them in checking in at the hotel. For the remaining time during the day, the guests can relax at the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
On the second day of the tour after breakfast, the guests will have a sightseeing tour of Delhi. This tour is arranged for half of the day during which the guests will visit the official residence of the President of India known as The Rashtrapati Bhavan. This building houses a lot of rooms and has a Mughal garden reminiscent of the Mughal style of gardens.
In the afternoon, there will be a sightseeing tour arranged for travel to Old Delhi. Guests will visit places such as the Red Fort or the ‘Lal Quila’ made of red sandstone, Jama Masjid built in 1650 by Emperor Shah Jahan which took 6 years for completion and is the largest mosques in India, Raj Ghat the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi where he was cremated, and the vibrant Bazaars of the town such as Chandni Chowk that dates back to the Mogul era. During the evening guests will witness the stunning sound and light show at the Red Fort. The overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi / Bagdogra / Darjeeling
Guests will board the flight to Bagdogra in West Bengal and from there they will travel further to Darjeeling. For the rest of the day, the guests will have a leisure time and get adjusted to the high altitude of Darjeeling. It is the most scenic place with its breathtaking hills and variety of flowers scattered all over. From here, guests can catch a glimpse of the world’s third highest peak, the Kanchanjungha.
Day 04: Darjeeling
The Himalayan city of Darjeeling is known for its numerous tea plantations and its cool climate. On the fourth day of the East India Tour, guests will have the tour of the city of Darjeeling. The tourists attractions covered are the Botanical Gardens which has an exotic collection of a variety of Himalayan plants, flowers and orchids, the Victoria Falls which is located close to the Lloyd’s Botanical gardens which has rare botanical specimens in its garden, Tenzing's House which conducts preliminary courses on rock climbing on the Tenzing rock and Gombu rocks situated at Lebong Cart Road. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 05: Darjeeling
Darjeeling is also famous for viewing the magnificent Himalayan peaks. Early in the morning, guests will travel to the Tiger Hill to witness the beautiful sunrise which is counted to be a lifetime, which is over the peak of Kanchanjungha. Guests will also catch sight of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. On their way back to Darjeeling, guests can visit the oldest Buddhist monastery in Darjeeling, the Ghoom Buddhist Monastery. Rest of the day will be for relaxation. The tourists may also visit the Mirik Lake.
Day 06: Darjeeling / Gangtok
The next morning guests will be driven to Gangtok and upon arrival spend the day resting.
Day 07: Gangtok
Gangtok is known for its Buddhist links and temples. At Gangtok, there will be a whole day sightseeing tour of the town in which guests can visit places like the Chorten which has the most important stupa of Sikkim located here with a gold topped shikhara and 108 prayer wheels, the Deer Park, and the Orchid Sanctuary which is famous for its rare species of orchids with 454 varieties found here.
Day 08: Gangtok / Bagdogra / Calcutta
On the eighth day of the tour, guests will leave Gangtok and travel to Bagdogra from where they will board the flight to Calcutta. Reaching Calcutta guests check in at the hotel.
Day 09: Calcutta
The city of Calcutta boasts of rich cultural and historical heritage. The colonial influence is evident in its many buildings. Calcutta the former capital of India and is a world famous tourist destination. Post breakfast there will be a whole day sightseeing city tour of the town. The places to visit include are the Victoria Memorial founded by George V which has bronze images of Lady Victoria, King Edward VII and Lord Curzon, Birla Planetarium where regular astronomical shows are held in different languages, Kalighat which has an important shrine of Goddess Parvati, Indian Museum which is the largest museum in the country, Ramakrishna Mission Institute located at Golpark where several religious discourses and cultural programs are held and Marble Palace which has rare collections of antiques and a couple of paintings by Rubens. The Kain Temple is famous for its mirrors and colored glass, the temple dates back to the year 1867.
Day 10: Calcutta / Bhubaneshwar
In the morning, guests board the flight to Bhubaneshwar and upon arrival check in at a hotel. Bhubaneshwar is famous for its temples and it was here in 261BC Emperor Ashoka realized the futility of war and accepted Buddhism. The city is also famous for its Hindu spirituality.
Day 11: Bhubaneshwar / Puri
Puri is known all over the world for its yearly Rath Yatra of Lord Krishna. After the guests freshen up they drive down to Puri and check in at the hotel. There will be a visit to the 12th century Jagannath Temple which is dedicated to Lord Krishna, in the afternoon and guests can shop at the nearby Ananda Bazaar and the food market. In the evening guests can enjoy at the beach of Puri. For the night, guests will stay at the hotel.
Day 12: Puri / Konark / Puri
On the 12th day, the guests will spend their entire day in Konark, which is famous all over the world for its Surya Mandir also known as the Sun Temple. This temple is a marvel of Indian craftsmanship with its delicate and elaborate stone carvings featuring gods and goddesses. This beach side town offers the guests stunning views of the Bengal bay.
Day 13: Puri / Bhubaneshwar
Post breakfast the guests depart from Puri to arrive at Bhubaneshwar, and check in at the hotel. The afternoon is for visiting the famous Chillika Lake. This lake is the habitat of many exotic birds due its rich natural resources and guests can have good time watching the varieties of birds at this lake. Guests spend the night at the hotel.
Day 14: Bhubaneshwar / Delhi
Guests will take the flight to Delhi and check in at the hotel. For the remaining of the day, they can rest and relax or they can even go for shopping.
Day 15: Delhi
This is the end of the East India tour and after breakfast, guests will be transferred to the airport from where they will take the connecting flight for their way back home.
