Day 01: Arrival at Delhi
On arrival in Delhi, the representative of Taj Mahal Tour will escort you to the hotel. Delhi is the capital city of India. In the afternoon you can explore the monuments in Old and New Delhi. Its various forts, historical sites monuments , temples and churches are its famous tourist attractions.. The Red Fort made of red sandstone is built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and is an impressive structure. Qutub Minar, the tallest structure of the 11th century, Humayun’s tomb, the only monument built by a lady in the memory of her husband and Jama Masjid, the famous mosque of the Muslims are all popular tourist spots.
Day 02: Delhi – Agra (203 kms / 4 hours)
We will drive down to Agra and visit Sikandra, the beautiful tomb of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. In the afternoon, after checking into the hotel, we will visit the world famous Taj Mahal – the monument of love built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and is made of pure white marble. After seeing the Taj Mahal, we will take a tour of the Agra Fort, where you can see the Mausamman Burji, the place where Emperor Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb. This was the place where the emperor spent his last days watching the Taj Mahal.
Day 03: Agra – Khajuraho
In the morning, the Taj Mahal Tour group will take a flight to Khajuraho and check into a hotel. In the afternoon, you will be taken for a tour of the Khajuraho temples that are famous for their 10th century exquisite sculptures constructed during the Chandela dynasty. The Khajuraho temples are a World Heritage Site and comprises of the Kandaria Mahadeo Mandir, Laxman Mandir along with other temples.
Day 04: Khajuraho – Varanasi
In the afternoon, after lunch we will be leaving for Varanasi by flight and then travel to the hotel for a check in after that.
Day 05: Varanasi
In Varanasi, we will take you for an early morning boat ride on the Ganga River from where you can see the sunrise and bathing ghats of this ancient holy Hindu city. After lunch, we will take an excursion to Sarnath, which is the place where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. We retire for the night at the hotel.
Day 06: Varanasi – Calcutta
In the evening, Taj Mahal Tour will proceed to Calcutta by an overnight train journey.
Day 07: Calcutta
On arrival in the afternoon, we will check into the hotel and have lunch. We can then make a city tour of Kolkata and visit the Victoria Memorial, Kalighat temple, Birla Planetarium, Indian Museum, St. Pauls Cathedral, Belur Math, Pareshnath Jain temple, Nakhoda Mosque along with many more tourist attractions. Victoria Memorial is an excellent example of Georgian architecture and has several interesting exhibits from the colonial era. Kalighat temple is a famous temple dedicated to Goddess Kali.
Day 08: Calcutta
In the morning, we will take a flight to Bhubaneshwar where you can take a tour of the city and visit the Nandankanan Biological Park, Khadagiri and Udaygiri caves and the tribal museum. Nandankanan Wildlife Sanctuary is a national park that is covered by Project Tiger and is famed for its tigers.
Day 09: Bhubaneshwar – Puri – Bhubaneshwar
The day is spent traveling to Puri and visiting the famous Sun Temple of Konark with another visit in the afternoon to the artisan’s village, Raghurajpuri. The Sun Temple is an architectural marvel and is in the shape of a chariot. In the evening, we return to Bhubaneshwar and retire for the night in our respective hotel rooms.
Day 10: Bhubaneshwar – Delhi
In the morning we take a flight to Delhi from Bhubaneshwar and check in at the hotel there to spend the day.
Day 11: Delhi
In the morning, the Taj Mahal Tour guide will escort you to the International airport for you to board on to your flight.
