For a dream tour that spans the some of the most important attractions in India namely, Taj Mahal and places of Buddhist importance, go through the itinerary provided below for Taj Mahal and Buddha Tour:
Day 1
You arrival at Delhi is followed by a meeting with our representative and soon after you transfer to the hotel. Afternoon will be reserved for trip to the different attractions and markets in both Old and New Delhi. Night stay will be at the hotel.
Day 2
Post breakfast, leave for Jaipur by road, where you will check in at the hotel. The entire afternoon and evening will be free for you to explore the beauty of the city. Spend the night at the hotel.
Day 3
Breakfast is followed by an elephant safari to Amer Fort and later, a tour of the entire city. The attractions that will be covered include City Palace, Johari Bazaar, Hawa Mahal, Royal Observatory and more.
Day 4
This day you will drive to the city of the Taj Mahal, Agra. On the way, a short halt will be at Fatehpur Sikri. You can check in at the hotel at Agra and in the evening leave for a tour of Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. Stay in the night at the hotel.
Day 5
Reach the railway station post breakfast from where you will board the train to Jhansi. From here, vehicles will drive you to Khajuraho, halting at Orchha on the way. Check in at the hotel in Khajuraho and stay the night at the hotel.
Day 6
Early breakfast followed by a tour of the Khajuraho Temple. In the afternoon, you get a transfer to the airport to board a flight to Varanasi, where you will meet the representative and then get transferred to the hotel. Afternoon you can tour Sarnath and in the evening visit the famous Varanasi Ghats. Night Stay will be at the hotel.
Day 7
Morning will be all about taking a boat ride on the River Ganges and soon after, you will be taken to the most famed Hindu temples in Varanasi, along with a city tour. Overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 8
Morning you will be taken to Boghgaya, home to the Mahabodhi Temple. Offer prayers at this temple and meditate under the Bodhi Tree. Drive back to the hotel where you can have your breakfast. This will be followed by your visit to the Sri Lankan Monastery and the village of Sujata. Return back to hotel for the overnight stay.
Day 9
This day will also be dedicated to your visit to the Mahabodhi Temple where you can spend a great deal of time and touring around the temple, to visit the different monasteries of Bodhgaya.
Day 10
Post breakfast drive to Rajgir, where you check in at the hotel. The place is well known in relation to Buddhism as it is here that Buddha preached and delivered many of his sermons. Here, afternoon visit to Monastery Venuvana Vihar and the hill top stupa built by the Japanese devotees. Late afternoon visit to the ancient ruins of Nalanda University where you can walk around to get back to the era gone by.
Day 11
Breakfast is followed by a drive to Vaisali, which many believe to be the first republic of the world. It is here that Buddha preached his Radha Sutra. Later in the afternoon, drive to Patna and from the city, board a flight or train to Kolkata. Upon arrival, transfer to the flight that will take you to your onward journey or to Europe |
