Day 01: Delhi
Delhi is the capital of India. It houses the most influential personalities of the country. On arrival in Delhi in the morning, you will be escorted by the Rajasthan Desert Safari Tour members to a five star hotel in New Delhi. After a short break, we will take you for a trip of Old Delhi in a Rickshaw, a mode of transport frequently used over here. We will guide you to a tour of the city and visit the famous Red Fort and Jama Masjid Mosque. The Red Fort is an impressive structure in red sandstone, representing the typical Mughal architecture. Both, Red Fort and Jama Masjid were built by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. We will have dinner at the Old Hauz Khas village complex and retire for the night at the hotel.
Day 02: Mandawa
We leave for our camp in the desert at Mandawa, where after lunch we get to explore the Havelis and catch a glimpse of the Shekhawati culture with its famous wall frescos which are world renowned. The noted tourist attractions of Mandawa include Jhunjhunwala Haveli, Goenka Double Haveli and Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli. In the evening, we are served dinner at the Mandawa Castle in a royal and regal fashion resembling the service given to the royalties in the past.
Day 03: Mandawa
After breakfast, we leave for the exotic camel safari in the desert where we have lunch on the sand dunes. Here you will enjoy an exciting cultural show. We return in the evening to have dinner at the camp.
Day 04: Bikaner
We take a tour of Bikaner, which is famous for its intricately carved Jharokas, and is also prominent for its Camel Corps that was founded by Maharaja Ganga Singh, along with a tour of the city. Bikaner houses the famous Junagarh Fort, which is an imposing and grand structure of typical Rajput architecture. You will also see the renowned Karni Mata Temple that is famous for its holy rats which are seen in large numbers in the premises.
Day 05: Jaisalmer
We take a trip through the Thar Desert to reach Jaisalmer which looks enchanting like a fort rising out of the desert.
Day 06: Jaisalmer
In the morning, you can visit the Jain temples and forts situated on the hilltop in the manner in which Rajput warriors did in the past. Jaisalmer is rightly known as the golden city as most of its magnificent structures are built in yellow sandstone. The places of tourist interest include Jaisalmer Fort, Tazia Tower, Gadsisar Lake, Salim Singh ki Haveli, Patwon Ki Haveli, Bara Bagh and Nathmalji ki Haveli. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the camel safari into the desert landscape. In the evening, we have arranged a nomad dance troupe performance on the sand dunes which will be a thrilling and unique experience for you.
Day 07: Jaisalmer
At Jaisalmer, we take a jeep safari to the villages and the fossil park at Akal where a forest existed around 180 million years ago. Akal has beautiful forest areas. In the evening, you can spend time at the bazaar at Jaisalmer.
Day 08: Thar Desert
We will be heading for Jodhpur through the Thar Desert and check into the hotel on arrival. Thar Desert is rich in exotic fauna and flora. Jodhpur is well known for Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Museum and Balsamand Lakes and Gardens.
Day 09: Mehrangarh
You will be taken to see the ancient fort of Mehrangarh which is spread over 5 kms and is located on a hill. Mehrangarh is an imposing fortress with massive fortifications surrounding it along with 7 huge gates. Mehrangarh houses palatial structures of Maan Vilas, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Mahal, Sileh Khana, Daulat Khana, Phool Mahal and Sukh Mahal. During the rest of the day you can explore the Mandore City- the ancient capital, the Sardar Market and Jaswant Thada. Mandore used to be the erstwhile capital of Marwar. Jaswant Thada is a royal cenotaph in the memory of great Rajput king and warrior, Maharaja Jaswant Singh. Sardar Market is a colorful market where there are many shops selling local handicrafts, textiles, silver jewelry, spices, Indian vegetables and sweets.
Day 10: Osian
You will be taken for a trip to visit Osian, which is an oasis in the desert and the carpet village of Salawas. Osian has the very famous and historical Jain and Brahamanical Temples.
Day 11: Jaipur
We will drive down to Jaipur and check into a hotel late in the evening.
Day 12: Amber
We will take a tour of the city palace and then visit the Amber fort made of red sandstone and marble. Amer Fort was the ancient capital of Jaipur, built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh and has some famous monuments like the Sheesh Mahal, the Jai Mandir and Sukh Niwas Baodi. We can enjoy an elephant ride up the ramparts of the fort, in a similar style resembling that of the maharajas who lived here in the past. You will get to see the Jaigarh fort here which encompasses the biggest cannon on wheels in the world. We return for the night at the hotel.
Day 13: Agra
Early in the morning we drive down to Agra through the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri. After checking into a hotel and taking a short break we leave to visit the Agra fort. This is the fort where Emperor Shahjahan (the builder of Taj Mahal) was held captive by his son Emperor Aurangzeb, who took over his throne. You can see the magnificent Taj Mahal monument from the place where the emperor was jailed. We will then proceed to visit the Taj Mahal monument, one of the seven wonders of the world and renowned for being a landmark of love and romance. Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Day 14: Delhi
Drive back to Delhi and stay at the hotel.
Day 15: Rajasthan Desert Safari Tour Ends.
