Kerala Culinary Tours of Kerala

Cochin – Periyar

 
Day 01: Cochin
On the first day of the Kerala Culinary Tour, you arrive at Cochin and are welcomed by the tour operator. Cochin is a major trade port in the heart of Kerala. Later you are transferred to the hotel. Enjoy a boat cruise at the Cochin Harbour in the evening.

Cochin is a beautiful harbour city with many famous tourist spots like the Cochin Fort, Jewish Synagogue, Syro Malabar Church, and shipyard and so on. The Synagogue is a cultural symbol that restores the olden culture the Malabar Church upholds the integrity of the Catholic community. Fort Cochin is of great historical importance as it used to be the main spice trade centre of India. The Kerala cuisine is as unique as its traditions and has tempting combinations of vegetables, spices, seafood and meats, all cooked in coconut milk. The spices add on to the flavors and help in digestion as well. Enjoy the delicacies of Kerala for dinner. Retire for the night at the hotel.

Day 02: Cochin
On the second day of the Kerala Culinary Tour, take an interesting walk and stroll through the local fish and spice markets. Enjoy authentic Indian and Kerala cuisine in the afternoon. You can learn to cook mouth watering seafood specialties in a cookery demonstration, after lunchtime.

Day 03: Spice Village – Periyar Lake
The third day of the Kerala Culinary tour takes you to the Spice Village resort after breakfast. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the exciting boat safari at the Periyar Lake. Periyar Lake is a vast water body that surrounds the Periyar National Park. This wildlife reserve is a famous habitat of the Indian Elephant. The national park is a good habitat for the elephant, tiger, deer and various animals and exotic birds. After returning from the boat safari, you return to the Spice Village to witness a live demonstration of cooking involving the use of fresh spices.

Day 04: Tour of Spice Village
On the fourth day of the tour, you are taken on a tour of the Spice Village and the hotel staff introduces you to the various regional spices. The chef gives you special cookery lessons in the afternoon and you can get hands on experience of cooking with fresh spices.

Day 05: Cochin Airports
Day five is the last day of the Kerala Culinary Tour, wherein you are transferred either to the airport or railway station for onward journey. You may also extend your journey by taking benefits of the various attractive offerings of tour packages from our company.
