Day 01: Delhi
Upon arrival at the Delhi airport, the representative will greet the guests and help them in checking in at the hotel. Guests stay at the hotel for the night. Delhi is the capital city of India and was the powerhouse of the Mogul era which it still retains of independent India.
Day 02: Delhi - Patna
The city of Patna has had important connections with Buddhism. On the second day of the tour, the guests will fly to Patna – the capital of Bihar, which has an impressive historical background. Upon arrival in Patna, there will be a half-day sightseeing tour, which includes visits to places like the Hari Mandir – a temple dedicated to lord Krishna, the Patna Museum, Sher Shah Masjid – i one of the most popular Masjid in Bihar .At the end of the day the tourists return to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Patna - Rajgir
Ancient India is best explored in the city of Rajgir. It has developed as a health and winter resort due to its warm water ponds. On the third day of the tour the guests travel by car or coach to Rajgir and upon arrival, stay at the bungalow. Rajgir is known as the ancient capital of the Mauriyan Empire. For the rest of the day, guests can rest at the bungalow.
Day 04: Rajgir - Nalanda - Rajgir
Nalanda was the place in ancient India where the first university was found. In the morning after breakfast, guests will travel to Nalanda. This ancient city of Nalanda was the center of intellectual activity from the fifth century B.C. to the twelve century A.D. In the afternoon guests, take the tour of the city of Rajgir where Lord Mahavira and Lord Buddha preached their sermons. The overnight stay is arranged at a hotel in Rajgir.
Day 05: Rajgir - Bodhgaya
Guests take the car and travel to Bodhgaya in the morning to see the Vajrashilla, which is a place beneath the Bodhi tree where Lord Buddha got enlightenment. Bodhgaya is the place where Buddha received enlightenment. For the remaining time during the day, guests are free to move, and visit places as they want.
Day 06: Bodhgaya
The city of Bodhgaya traces its lineage with the Buddhist traditions of ancient India. Bodhgaya was an important city for the Buddhists and guests here get to visit the Buddhist Temples dating back to several hundred years.
Day 07: Bodhgaya / Varanasi
On the seventh day guests, leave Bodhgaya and travel to another important pilgrimage city, Varanasi. This city is older as compared to Bodhgaya and is an important destination for the devout Hindus. Upon arrival, guests can rest at the hotel. The people really witness spirituality thriving in this great City.
Day 08: Varanasi
In order to witness Hindu rituals the city of Varanasi is the best. In the morning, there will be a boat ride on the River Ganges where guests can witness the Hindu Rituals on the wide ghats of the river. In the afternoon guests can roam the markets and shop for the famous Banaras silk clothes.
Day 09: Varanasi
Guests will spend their entire day at Sarnath, which is famous for its Buddhist links. The great Lord Buddha gave his maiden sermon at the Deer Park. Guests also get to see 'The Wheel of Law'.
Day 10: Varanasi / Gorakhpur
From Varanasi, guests travel by car to Gorakhpur. It is another important religious center of India. . The place is named after the medieval Saint Gorakshanath. The overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 11: Gorakhpur
The eleventh day of the India Pilgrimage Tour is planned for a sightseeing tour of Kushinagar. It is believed that the great Lord Buddha discarded his human body at this place. It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site .Guests stay at the hotel for the night.
Day 12: Gorakhpur
Guests will spend their whole day at Lumbini where Lord Buddha was born. King Ashoka, who accepted Buddhism after the great massacre visited this place and got a pillar, erected here with the words “Buddha was born here”. For the night guests stay at the hotel in Gorakhpur.
Day 13: Gorakhpur / Balrampur
In the morning after breakfast guest’s travel by car to Balrampur the city also known as Shravasti. It is located on the banks of River Rapti. There will be a Tour of Buddhist Pilgrimage of the city. The overnight stay for the guests will be arranged at the hotel.
Day 14: Balrampur / Lucknow / Delhi
From Balrampur guests head for Lucknow, where Lakshmana is supposed to have spent the remaining days of his life in this city. Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh. There is a sightseeing tour of the city in the afternoon where guests can visit places like the Sikandar Bagh – which is a villa garden, Great Imambara – is famous for its Nawabi architecture, Aliganj Temple – is a temple dedicated to Hanuman, and the Rumi Darwaza – is a gate way and was built by Nawab Asaf-Ud-dowlah. The Imambara was built during the drought to give people work and survive the famine. The main hall of this architecture does not have any pillars and beams. In the evening guests, board the flight to Delhi and upon arrival stay at the hotel.
Day 15: Delhi
This is the last day of the India Pilgrimage Tour the guests will be assisted in catching the flight towards their homes.
