Bird Watching Tour in Goa
 


Bird watching tour in Goa is an interesting opportunity for the tourists who have keen interest in nature and birds. It is a 6 nights and 7 days tour, in which tourists will cover some major destinations like Tembdi Surla, Charao Island, Baga, Charao Island, Morjim, Carambolim, Santa Cruz Marshes, Mayem Lake, and Dona Paula Plateau.

Bird Watching Tour in Goa Day 01: Arriving at Goa
On the first day of the tour, after arriving at Goa, you will be transferred to Backwoods Camp, which is cuddled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. This is the place, where you will spend total two nights by watching various species of birds. The Birdlife International also accredits this Backwoods Camp as the major ‘Endemic Bird Areas’ in Asia.

Day 02: Goa
On the 2nd day of the bird watching tour in Goa, tourists will spend the whole day at the Backwoods Camp. The Backwoods Camp features around 1220 species of birds. Some of the beautiful birds that are found in this camp are Malabar Grey Hornbill, Malabar Trogon, Heart-spotted Woodpecker, Malabar Parakeet, Forest Wagtail, Malabar Whistling Thrush, Crimson-backed Sunbird, Tickell's Blue Flycatcher, Indian Pitta and many others. At night, tourists can hear the calls of Brown Wood Owl, Oriental and Collared Scops Owls, and Brown Fish Owl.

Day 03: Goa
On the third day of the tour, tourists will be transferred to the Baga. Here you will have to find the best accommodation. This place is the home to some of the beautiful birds of the area and here one can see an amazing number of birds like Oriental Skylark, Pipits and Richards, Asian Palm Swift, white-cheeked Barbet, Common Sandpipers, Little Ringed Plovers, White-throated Kingfisher, Pied Bushchat, Spotted Owlet, Blyth's and Paddyfield.

Day 04: Goa
In the early morning of the 4th day, tourists have to leave for Morjim beach. It is one of the quiet as well as serene beaches in Goa. Not only that, here tourists can watch gulls, waders, and terns. After having lunch, you will visit Saligao that features two springs Salmona and Mollebhat. Both are settled in dense vegetation. Night will be spent at the hotel at Baga.

Day 05: Goa
In the early morning, you will have to leave for Charao Island and Mayem Lake. These two places are the famous tourist spots where one can see Pheasant tailed Jacana, Comb Duck Pygmy Goose, and many other common species of birds. An overnight stay at hotel in Baga will end the 5th day of the tour.

Day 06: Goa
The 6th day of the tour will be spending by watching birds at Carambolim. It is a lake, which draws a number of beautiful and migratory birds from different parts of the world. The picturesque landscape of Carambolim attracts birds like purple herons, Little Grebe, ducks, jacuna, Asian Openbilled Stork, and great white egrets. After watching all these birds, you will go to Santa Cruz marshes where you can see a wide number of shore birds. Night will be spent at the hotel in Baga

Day 07: Goa – Mumbai
From Baga, you will have to transfer to the airport to get your flight back to home.
