Day 01: Delhi
On the first day of your Incredible India Tour after your arrive at the Delhi Airport you meet the tour representative and you are transferred to the hotel where you stay overnight. The city of Delhi was a Mogul powerhouse and it still holds the same significance in independent India.
Day 02: Delhi
At 09:30 hours after eating your breakfast you leave for a full day sight seeing tour of Delhi – the capital city of India. Old Delhi was previously known as the Shah Jahanabad and was built in the first half of the 17th Century by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. New Delhi was built as the British capital. Places to visit in New and Old Delhi are India Gate – a war memorial, Red Fort – made of red sandstone, Parliament House the supreme legislature of the country, Birla Mandir – dedicated to Lord Laxmi Narayan, and the Bahai temple – which has a structure of lotus, Rashtrapati Bhavan – the President’s official residence . Raj Ghat is Gandhi Memorial , Jama Masjid – the most sacred mosque for Muslims in India, Humayun’s Tomb – which was built by Humayun’s wife and has great influence of Persian architecture and Qutub Minar – which is the tallest Minaret in India.
One can also go shopping in Delhi. One of the famous market areas in Delhi is Chandni Chowk which was also the famous shopping hangout in the Mogul era. One can find everything in Delhi from the monuments to parks and from gardens to museums. You can go for shopping in an auto rickshaws and enjoy the ride viewing the busy streets of the Capital City.
Day 03: Agra (by train – 203 kilometers)
The city of Agra boasts of rich Mogul architecture and the most famous being the Taj Mahal. You wake up at 05:00 hours and depart from the hotel to catch the Shatabdi Express for travel to Agra at 05:50 hours. Agra houses the Taj Mahal, which is one of the 7 wonders of the world. Breakfast is provided in the train which reaches Agra at 07:55 hours. After arrival you leave for a sight seeing tour of Agra Fort – which was built by Shah Jahan. At 1230 hours you check in to your hotel.
At sunset you visit the splendid Taj Mahal. Another place of tourist interest in Agra is the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah. This tomb is considered to be the antecedent of the Taj Mahal. Other than sight seeing, Agra is also famous for its markets which houses beautiful handicrafts, leather items and carpets, etc.
Day 04: Fatehpur Sikri and Jaipur (256 kilometers/ 06 to 07 hours)
Post breakfast at 07:30 hours you leave for Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri and the Tomb of Akbar in Sikandra. Fatehpur Sikri was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The city is in ruins with varied Mogul forts but the sight of the city at sunset is cherishable for a lifetime. At 16:00 hours you reach Jaipur and check into your hotel. After you freshen up you can go and visit the local market.
Day 05: Jaipur
The rich royal heritage of Rajasthan comes alive in the city of Jaipur. The city of Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. This city was founded in the year 1727 by King Sawai Jai Singh II. Post breakfast at 07:00 hours you leave for Amer Fort to enjoy the elephant ride. The Amber Fort was built by Raja Man Singh in the 16th Century.
Built with red sandstone and white marble the Fort is a nice blend of the Mughal and the Rajput Architecture. Other places to visit in Jaipur are Hawa Mahal – the palace of winds, built for the Royal women; City Palace, which is also a museum and Jantar Mantar – which is an observatory. Jaipur is also famous for the traditional music and the traditional dance forms.
Day 06: Pushkar (149 kilometers)
Pushkar blooms with colors of Rajasthan during the fair and it is heaven for the international travelers. On the sixth day of your Incredible India Tour you leave for Pushkar at 07:39 hours after you have your breakfast at the hotel. Pushkar is often referred to as “Tirth Raj” and is an important pilgrimage site in India. By 10:30 hours you reach Pushkar and check in the hotel. Places to visit in Pushkar are the Lake at the heart of the city, the Brahma Temple – which is dedicated to Lord Bramha and the Savitri Temple – dedicated to Goddess Savitri.
Day 07: Mandawa (240 kilometers)
Royal living is evident in Mandawa. At 07:30 hours you leave for Mandawa. It is also called the Fort town because it houses several forts. You reach Mandawa at 12:30 hours and check in at the hotel booked by you. In the afternoon you leave for a sight seeing tour of Mandawa.
The Fort Mandawa was built by Thakur Nawal Singh. Other places to visit in Mandawa are the Goenka Havelis – which have two gates and are popular for their balconies, the Ladia Haveli – which has the finest interior and exterior decoration in the region of Shekhawati and the Mandawa Fort near the Sonthalia Gate.
Day 08: Delhi
On the last day of your Incredible India Tour post breakfast you leave for Delhi at 09:30 hours. Upon arrival in Delhi you are transferred to the International Airport. From here you board the flight for your onward journey.
