The tourists can join the India Volunteer Goa program to get a wide combination of experiences including sightseeing, excursions, trekking, volunteer work at the beaches in Goa and a spiritual experience in the Ashram at Goa. Despite the booming tourism industry, Goa requires the help of volunteers to help the adults and children in deprived communities.
The Goa Volunteer experience is well arranged tour which starts from Mumbai and on the way, you would visit Lonavala a small town and visit the local markets and then take an adventure trip. After this, tourists will experience living in a tribal village after which you will be taken to an Ashram where daily discourses are held by the spiritual leaders. Practices include meditation and yoga which are bound to be relaxing and enlightening.
Accommodation would be comfortable, with simple rooms having bunk beds, attached bathrooms and all basic facilities. However, you would be responsible for the upkeep of your room in this volunteer program. Meals given would be simple including vegetarian fare as well as fish curries and rice.
While staying in Goa, the volunteer work would involve teaching at a local school in Goa or care for young children in a day care or teaching computers to the underprivileged children and more. Tourists could also enjoy the rest of the time on the beautiful beaches or just getting to know the culture, history and social issues of the place. After this, the group would move to Colva for the rest of the program where tourists can spend time at Colva, the largest and most spectacular beaches in the South of Goa.
